Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related wear consistent with use and display. The woven surface shows some fading, variation in tone and minor signs of age. A richly detailed European wall hanging depicting an aristocratic hunting procession in a romantic medieval landscape. The scene features elegantly dressed riders on horseback, a falconer holding a bird of prey, attendants, woodland vegetation and a fortified castle rising in the distance.

Designed by Marc Waymel, the piece retains its original French-language label identifying the design as “La Tapisserie à la Chasse Royale” and noting that it was created exclusively for Le Médaillon Flamand, Bruxelles.

The intricate pictorial weaving uses a beautifully muted palette of dusty rose, ochre, faded blue, russet, sage and warm brown. An elaborate foliate border frames the narrative scene, giving the textile the presence of a much older European tapestry while remaining practical for contemporary display.

The imagery draws strongly on historic courtly hunting traditions: horses in decorative tack, period dress, falconry and château architecture create an atmospheric Old World composition. Its generous scale makes it particularly effective above a console, sofa, bed or fireplace, or as a focal point within an English country, château-inspired or collected interior.

Five substantial fabric loops are already fitted along the top for hanging.
